You can get to the Doca do Cavacasn Swimming Pool by walking through the tunnel that lies at the eastern end of Praia Formosa. The natural rock formation that lies on the coastline here has been expertly employed to provide a natural swimming pool complex. The pool has lifeguards on duty and has a modest entry fee. Understandably, it is a popular destination for the locals on a sunny day. Nearby are resturante and cafe facilities. It lies just west of Ponta da Cruz. The area was badly affected by the storms of April 2008 and the tunnel to Praia Formosa was closed for public safety.
