The Mercado dos Lavradores (Farmer's market) in Funchal is open daily and supplies fresh fish, vegetables and fruits produced in Madeira. However, the tourist should beware of the few unscrupulous traders who are ready and willing to vastly overcharge any gullible holidaymaker. Fresh cut flowers are also available for purchase from the traditionally dressed flower sellers who line the outside of the building.
