Starting out on the first stretch of the Monte toboggan run

The photo shows the start on the Monte toboggan ride. This first stretch of approximately 30 meters takes a 90 degree turn left as it joins the route of the, now dismantled, Monte train route. At this turn, it is usual for a photographer to take a shot of the passing wicker basket and passengers. Loading the picture onto a laptop, and then communicating it to another computer at the bottom of the run, means that a souvenir folder with photo will be awaiting you when you arrive at your destination. However, by Madeira standards, the souvenir is expensive, so do not feel obliged to buy it.
