Running alongside the bottom of the Monte Palace Tropical Gardens on the toboggan run down from Monte

For the next 100 meters or so, the Monte toboggan run follows the roadway by the side of the Monte Palace Tropical Gardens. However, as our photo shows, as a passenger, all you will see of this lovely tourist attraction is a stark concrete wall on your left. During this passage, it is better to concentrate on the wonderful panoramic view you have of Funchal below you.

The satellite image below marks the Monte Church. The terra-cota oblong below the marker “A” is the roof. In front, and to either side, the white facade is shown. The dark grey entrance square is also clearly visible. The narrow grey rectangle that protrudes beyond is the image of the steps leading up to the entrance square.
