The Flower Festival takes place in Funchal every year after Easter and lasts for two weeks. During that time, streets are decorated with flowers and bunting and the main thoroughfares of Funchal have ornate flower carpet designs laid out across the pavements. The festival also comprises of flowers shows, folklore performances and other musical events.
