Behind the Estrada Monumental, in the Lido district of Funchal, is a steep pathway that leads up to join the Levada dos Poirnais. This picture shows the path, as photographed from a hotel balcony. The climb is steep, but once you reach the levada, the walk along the water channel is practically flat.
